JANE WITHERS – $4.5 MILLION, BEL AIR
American actress Jane Withers’ prolific career started at the age of three and was one of the most popular child actors in the 1930s to 40s. She starred across Shirley Temple in Bright Eyes as the obnoxious, but equally adorable, Joy Smythe. In 1937 and 1938, Withers’ films ranked in the top ten list for box-office gross. Before she retired at the age of 21 in 1947, Withers had acted in about 38 films.
She was instrumental in creating Hollywood institutions, including the Hollywood Walk of Fame. With her investment planning, she sold her Bel-Air home for $4.5 million. The house was reportedly bought for her by her parents way back in 1936. It’s located on half an acre of land and has five bedrooms, seven and a half bathrooms, a spa, and a pool, to name a few.
