Doris Day is a cornerstone of American entertainment. The American actress and animal welfare activist started her career as a big band singer in 1939, before achieving relative success in 1945 for her two songs, Sentimental Journey and My Dreams Are Getting Better With Time. She rode the latter part of the Golden Age of Hollywood and raised her credit score with films like Romance on the High Seas.

Her songs are still being used to this day while she rests in her well-known Cypress Inn property at Carmel-by-the-Sea. The cost of the property remains undisclosed but it has since been a certified historic landmark since 1929. The property which secluded 8.62 acres has six bedrooms and eight bathrooms.
