Regardless of his success, his legendary career ended when he passed away on February 12, 2018, in Las Vegas.

VIRGINIA PATTON

Former actress and businesswoman Virginia Patton is popularly known as Ruth Dakin Bailey in Frank Capra’s It’s a Wonderful Life, a Hollywood classic film that we still watch today. She was only able to work on a few films such as Thank Your Lucky Stars, Black Eagle, Hollywood Canteen, and Grandfather’s Follies. This is mainly because she got married to Cruse W. Moss in 1949 and decided to retire early to focus on their family. Her final film credit was the comedy crime film, The Lucky Stiff.

Despite her retirement in the film industry, Virginia still goes to interviews for the 1946 film It’s a Wonderful Life. Now that she has a lot of free time in her hand, she is probably enjoying the view from her house in Ann Arbor together with her dearest family. She also attended the University of Michigan after she left the entertainment industry. Virginia has only been married once, proving Cruse is her one true love.

ANTOINE ASHLEY

Antoine Ashley was popularly known for her other name, Sahara Davenport. She was an American drag queen, singer, and reality TV personality. Did you know that she is also a well-trained classical dancer? However, her most popular stint is when she joined the reality competition series, RuPaul’s Drag Race, captivating the audience with her talent and showing her full potential. Believe it or not, but she got a degree in Fine Arts, which may have helped her in her exemplary performance, landing her on the top spot always.

Her partner for six years, Manila Luzon, was certainly very proud of her. Unfortunately, just when she was already planning to make a big name in the entertainment industry, Antoine untimely passed away at the young age of 27. As part of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars family, it dedicated an episode of It Takes Two to celebrate and honor the wonderful life she had shared with many people.

CARA WILLIAMS

Actress Cara Williams rose to prominence for her performance in the film The Defiant Ones, for which she earned a nomination for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress when she played the role of Billy’s mother. Her other lead role was in the TV series Pete and Gladys, where she was again nominated for an Emmy Award for Best Lead Actress in a Comedy. Later on, Cara retired in the late ’70s with her last TV show, Visions, and her last film, The One Man Jury.

After her retirement from acting, she had investments to work on as an interior designer and it seemed to be the best choice she had made. Now, she is able to enjoy her enormous free time together with her children and family. MILDRED KORNMAN

Mildred Kornman may belong to a family of actors, but she made a name for herself as a prominent actress and model. Mildred first appeared in the film The Fourth Alarm with her sister at the age of nine months old. She also portrayed lead roles in the silent film series, Our Gang. However, she took a break from the show business industry to concentrate on her studies. After graduating, she became an actress under 20th Century Fox.

She also accomplished a degree of fame as a high fashion model under the name Ricki VanDusen. Before her retirement, she got into photography. Certainly, at 95 years old, she will remain as one of the most influential women in the industry because of her talents and willingness to expand her expertise in the business. Mildred perfectly knows how to plan for her future, thinking of the things that may come along her way that makes her prepared for whatever may come.

CARLA BALENDA

Former film and television actress Carla Balenda attended a summer stock theatre in her youth where she enriched her passion for acting. She appeared in a total of 13 films under RKO Pictures and Columbia Pictures. She gained prominence when she portrayed as Mickey Roo ney’s love interest in the TV show, The Mickey Rooney Show. Other films and TV series credited to her are Outlaw Women, Perry Mason, Wagon Train, Lassie, The Whip Hand, and The Adventures of Dr. Fu Manchu.

Her last film prior to retirement in 1966, was Seconds, portraying the role of an operating room nurse. Now that Carla is 95 years old, we hope that she invests some of her earning into some worthy investment. Now that she has a lot of free time all for herself, there is no doubt she is indulging with the things she wants to do with her family. Carla has made a life worth living.

DAWN WELLS

American beauty queen and actress Dawn Wells became popular for her role as Mary Ann Summers on the hit sitcom, Gilligan’s Island. Having a college degree in theater arts and design, Dawn pursued her passion by mostly working in musical theater productions. Dawn now has more than a hundred theatrical productions to date! She had a one-woman show in Las Vegas in the ’80s but also played small acting roles in films since the theatre was still her priority.

Moreover, she also joined Miss America in 1960 as the Miss Nevada contender. In addition, Dawn owned a business, called Wishing Wells Collections, putting her investment money into good use by making clothing for people with limited mobility. She also founded the Idaho Film and Television Institute – a not-for-profit educational organization for the people of Idaho. If there were not enough, Dawn organized SpudFest, an annual family movie festival also in Idaho.

OLIVIA HUSSEY

Olivia Hussey gained international fame for her role as Juliet in the film adaption of Romeo and Juliet in 1968. Her performance in the film credited her with a Golden Globe and the David di Donatello Award. She then took a 2-year hiatus to recuperate from agoraphobia. Olivia is considered as one of the most beautiful women in the world and has outstanding talent in acting. It is no surprise that she appeared in numerous TV series and movies including international ones like the Japanese film Virus, and the Australian film, Turkey Shoot.

Olivia also provided voice roles in multiple Star Wars video games. She recently published her memoir entitled, The Girl on the Balcony: Olivia Hussey Finds Life After Romeo and Juliet. Aside of her works in the entertainment industry, Olivia is also an animal rights activist, which is probably one of the many reasons why a lot of people love her.

JACQUELINE WHITE

Actress Jacqueline White worked for both MGM and RKO productions in the ‘40s and ‘50s. She was first discovered by a casting director in the Broadway production, Ah, Wilderness!, and arranged her to have her first film appearance in the film, Song of Russia in 1944. Her greatest films were Crossfire, Mystery in Mexico, and The Narrow Margin. However, Jacqueline retired in 1950 after her marriage to Bruce Anderson and want to focus on raising a family with him and their investment in the oil business.

However, in 1952, she was offered a co-starring role in The Narrow Margin, which became her last film and considered to be the classic of “film noir” for two years. Now, Jacqueline is 98 years and rarely seen either on the small or big screen. She doesn’t even make an appearance in any film festivals and entertainment conventions. Here is to hoping that Jacqueline is living a fulfilled life with her family and a big business on the sideline.

LINDSAY WAGNER

Lindsay Wagner is celebrated for her role as Jaime Sommers in the 1976 sci-fi TV series, The Bionic Woman, for which the 1977 Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Dramatic Role was credited to her. This honor even made her the youngest actress who won that award before Jodie Comer and Zendaya. She then signed a contract with Universal Studios and appeared on numerous TV shows including Owen Marshall: Counselor at Law and The F.B.I., Sarge.

Her incredible talent on TV also resulted in winning a Golden Palm Star on the Palm Spring Walk of Stars in 2012. In 2013, Lindsay started teaching acting, directing, and film producing at San Bernardino Valley College. Lindsay is also the author of a few books such as High Road to Health: A Vegetarian Cookbook and 30-Day Natural Face Lift Program. At 71, fans can expect to see more from Lindsay with her knowledge and ability in the industry.

KATHARINE ROSS

Award-winning film and stage actress Katharine Ross is praise-worthy for her performance in The Graduate, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Stepford Wives, and Voyage of the Damned. Her acting prowess credited her a lot of awards such as a BAFTA Award, Saturn Award, Golden Globe, and Academy Award. Norman Lloyd is one of Hollywood’s last surviving centenarians and is considered a living legend. Why? Throughout his career, he has experienced a lot of historic moments and has worked with some of the most iconic stars in Hollywood history. With a career spanning almost ten decades, there is no doubt that he already has a fortune worth millions and millions. In fact, he has worked with Hollywood legends Alfred Hitchcock and Orson Welles and was even friends with Charlie Chaplin.

Not only is he a solid actor, but he is also known for his work as a producer and director. Norman may already be 106 years old, but he remains active as an actor to this day, appearing in the television series Fly and her most recently film was Train Wreck, which was released in 2015. Certainly, even at his age, Norman still maintains a reputable credit score and still unstoppable when it comes in acting.

HARRY BELAFONTE

The phenomenon, American singer-songwriter Harry Belafonte was credited as the “King of Calypso” for his unique and distinct Caribbean musical style. Since the 1950s, he has recorded songs in multiple genres such as gospel, blues, and Caribbean folk. He also released some worldwide hit albums such as Calypso, Beetlejuice and many more. Aside from being proficient in singing, Harry also pursued acting and appeared in several films.

Throughout his career in the music and film industry, he has garnered three Grammy Awards, an Emmy Award, and a Tony Award. He is also a proud activist and known as an avid supporter of the Civil Rights Movement and was a close associate of the late Martin Luther King Jr. He also has been a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador since 1987 until now. Tippi Hedren was a success in the modeling industry, where she was discovered by director Alfred Hitchcock while appearing in a TV advertisement. She became a world-renowned actress, having outstanding performances in films The Birds and Marnie which credited her several awards, including a Golden Globe Award for New Star of the Year. Throughout the years, she has starred in over 80 films and TV shows such as The Harrad Experiment and A Countess from Hong Kong, which was Charlie Chaplin’s final film.

EVA MARIE SAINT

The big star behind the crime drama film On the Waterfront is none other than the recipient of the Oscar Award Best Supporting Actress, Eva Marie Saint. She studied acting in her youth and began her career in a few NBC TV and radio shows. Her success became unstoppable when she began acting. Most of her films were best-sellers, thanks to her award-winning performance. Films credited to her are Alfred Hitchcock’s North by Northwest and A Hatful of Rain, with actor Don Murray, among others.

KEITH THIBODEAUX

Keith Thibodeaux, who is also called Richard Keith, began as a child actor and came to fame for playing the character Little Ricky on the popular sitcom I Love Lucy, alongside actress Lucille Ball. He got the part as Little Ricky because of his talent in playing drums at a very young age which impressed his co-stars. After the sitcom, he pursued a music career and joined the rock band David and the Giants in Mississippi and has produced a total of 10 song albums.

The group became one of the nation’s top contemporary Christian bands and started going on world tours. Eventually, Keith then decided to start his own career and go solo. Later on, Keith became the executive director of his wife’s investment in a dance company called Ballet Magnificat, which toured internationally. Certainly, being one of the veterans and respected stars in the industry, it is highly possible that he plays as the inspiration for the modern generation who also wants to have a successful career in the business.

Actress Bern Nadette Stanis made a name for herself when she portrayed Thelma Ann Evans–Anderson on the sitcom, Good Times. Bern started as a beauty queen and was awarded, Miss Brooklyn. She then went on to acting and appeared on TV shows such as The Cosby Show and The Love Boat. Aside from being proficient in the acting industry, she is also credited as the author of several books: The Good, The Bad & The Ugly; The Last Night, Situations 101: Relationships, and Situations 101: Finances.

TONI TENNILLE

Singer-songwriter Toni Tennille made it big with her songs Love Will Keep Us Together and Do That To Me One More Time. Toni and her former husband Daryl Dragon formed the duo Captain & Tennille and released their debut song, The Way I Want to Touch You, which paved the way for them to sign a contract with A&M Records. The couple recorded a cover version of Love Will Keep Us Together which credited them the 1975 Grammy Award for Record of the Year.

Toni then performed successfully as a solo artist and was also given her own talk show. At the age of 80, the gorgeous blonde is able to maintain her youthful looks and body. Tina Louise’s claim to fame was portraying the role of Ginger Grant in the hit sitcom, Gilligan’s Island. She began as a model and was hailed as the “World’s Most Beautiful Redhead” by the National Art Council and appeared in magazines, Modern Man and Playboy. Marilyn Knowlden was a celebrated child actress whose acting career began at the age of 4. Her first film was Women Love Once by Paramount Pictures. She starred in numerous films throughout the ‘30s and ‘40s and worked with high-profile actors like Humphrey Bogart, Katharine Hepburn, and Bette Davis. Marilyn retired from acting in 1944 to focus on her studies. She earned her college degree, majoring in music and drama. Since then, she worked as a reputed musician, songwriter, and playwright. She also published her autobiography entitled, Little Girl in Big Pictures, which recounts her experiences as a child actress.

Just like many actors and actresses who made it far, Marilyn invested at her passion and love for the entertainment industry at a very young age. Although this may not be the case for everyone, since some celebrities didn’t start off this young but are still successful, for this dark haired beauty, her baby days seem to have paid off! At 94 years old, she seemed to have a very impressive list of projects under her name.

LORETTA LYNN

Loretta Lynn is a living legend when it comes to country music. She is famed for her hit songs You Ain’t Woman Enough (To Take My Man), and One’s on the Way. Lynn Loretta her career, thanks to her husband’s encouragement. Her husband bought her a $17 guitar and she taught herself how to play it. She then started her own band called Loretta and the Trailblazers, which included her brother. As a soloist, three Grammy Awards, seven American Music Awards, 13 Academy of Country Music, to name a few, were credited to her.

Until now, she’s producing music and releasing albums. Even the smallest things can mean so much, especially when coming from someone who loves you and who you love back. For Loretta’s case, she didn’t want to disappoint her husband’s belief in her, and according to her, his love was always one of the first things that kept her going in reaching for that star. Actress and singer Marcy McGuire was well-admired in the ‘40s. She signed a contract with RKO Pictures at the age of 16. Her first film was entitled Seven Days’ Leave, along with famous actress Lucille Ball. Prior to her retirement in 1963, she starred in a total of 11 films including Career Girl, Sing Your Way Home, and It Happened in Brooklyn. One of her notable films was Higher and Higher with singer Frank Sinatra, for which they recorded songs together. At the age of 94 years old, we’re pretty sure Marcy has saved up for her health insurance.

There are so many living legends on this list, and compared to the first few ones, Marcy didn’t have too much projects under her name. However, she is still one of the greatest actresses out there worth to be remembered by. She was not only big in acting in the ‘40s, she was also a contralto singer. She should have all the credits in the world for being able to maintain a healthy and non-controversial life at her age.

BOB NEWHART

Stand-up comedian Bob Newhart was famous since the ‘60s for his deadpan comedy style. His first comedy album, The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newhart, was a bestseller that landed number one on the Billboard pop album chart. He subsequently released another album which also became a hit. Due to his success, he was offered shows including The Bob Newhart Show and Newhart. His most recent TV appearance was in The Big Bang Theory. Bob is not only a great actor but a great person, too.

Everyone who knows this guy well knows the fact that he is a loyal man. He’s been married to his wife since 1963. Some of his quotes include, “I’m most proud of the longevity of my marriage, my kids, and my grandchildren. If you don’t have that, you really don’t have very much.” We also owe him credits for the saying that laughter gave people distance, allowing them to step back, deal with it, and move on. Aside from show business, Bob also had an investment in establishing Rotijefco Inc. and purchased a radio station. What a wise move in preparing for his retirement!

BOB BARKER

Bob Barker is popularly known as the game show host of the longest-running show, The Price Is Right. He also worked for the game show Truth or Consequences which aired for 18 years. Bob was offered several hosting gigs including beauty pageants such as Miss Universe and Miss USA. He is also credited for being an animal rights activist. He ended every episode of The Price Is Right with the phrase: “This is Bob Barker reminding you to help control the pet population — have your pets spayed or neutered.”

This legend retired back in 2007, ending his 50-year career. In the year 2013, he was still able to be a part of the film Lion Ark. Today, at the age of 97, Bob recalls the most memorable days of his career by looking back at his favorites. He invested the rest of his time maintaining a low key non-controversial life, he doesn’t need it anymore anyway, he is already a legend.

ANGELA LANSBURY

Angela Lansbury has been a Hollywood superstar for almost eight decades. In 1942, her first film Gaslight earned her two Oscar nominations and a Golden Globe Award. Following her success, she was given countless films, and she also entered a career in Broadway. She was awarded for her notable performance in the musical, Mame. Lansbury was credited as the “First Lady of Musical Theatre” by The New York Times. Her legacy in the entertainment industry, charity, and philanthropy was honored by many.

This includes her appointment to Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) by Queen Elizabeth II in 2014. We all loved her when she was the voice of Mrs. Pots in the undying Disney classic Beauty and the Beast. Not so many years ago, Angela sang her iconic song Tale as Old as Time in a theater packed with viewers, tearing up as she gave out a heart melting performance of the same hit she sang decades ago. Credits to her natural angelic voice and an irreplaceable rendition of that hit song, Angela still sounds the same.

JAMIE FARR

Jamie Farr stole the limelight for playing a cross-dressing corporal Maxwell Q. Klinger in the hit sitcom, M*A*S*H. Farr began acting at the age of 11 by winning in a local contest. He was then discovered by a Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer talent scout and was offered a role in the 1955 film, Blackboard Jungle. Farr also worked as a panelist in several game shows including The Gong Show, Match Game-Hollywood Squares Hour, The Magnificent Marble Machine, and Tattletales.

Jamie hosted the $250,000 Game Show Spectacular until 2008. He is also a writer. A children’s book to his credit is entitled Hababy’s Christmas Eve. In the year 2019, Farr had a Youtube special (a documentary of a sort) which allowed him to look back on his sitcom days. He is gray and somewhat different than he was on the show but at the same time, Jamie is still very much the same – dashing, handsome, charming, and passionate.

TERRY MOORE

Terry Moore is one of the last surviving stars from the Hollywood Golden Age and, although retired, she continues to be widely recognized in the industry. She stamped her mark in the acting world with the films Mighty Joe Young and Peyton Place, but it was her acting performance in Come Back, Little Sheba which earned her an Academy Award. When she reached her 60s, she slowed down in terms of acting and took on smaller roles in B-movies.

However, thanks to her earlier success in her career, she is still regarded with a great degree of honor and given a Hollywood Walk of Fame star. At 92 years old, she has quite the contribution to Hollywood. In Twitter, she has the collection of art being honored in her name, filled with works and paintings of her projects in the past, even pictures. She has one of the prettiest faces back when she was a little girl. Now, Terry is not doing badly by investing on more positive things in her life as while growing older.
