PHYLICIA RASHAD

Phylicia Rashad is an American actress, singer, and stage director. In 2004, Rashad became the first black actress to win the Tony Award for Best Actress in the theater industry. She won this honor for her regain in “Raisins in the Sun”. When she played the role of Raisin for the Sun in the 2008 TV adaptation, she won the NAACP Image Award. She is best known for the role of the lawyer Clair Huxtable in the NBC sitcom “The Cosby Show”.

What you may not know is that Ahmed Rashard proposed to her on national television during NBC’s Thanksgiving halftime show while broadcasting the Detroit Lions and New York Jets game. Earlier the day, she was working on Macy’s Thanksgiving TV show on NBC. Within minutes of hearing Ahmed’s proposal, she came to NBC’s “NFL Live” midfielder and accepted his proposal on television.
