MEL BROOKS

Mel Brooks is the man behind the variety show Your Show of Shows, and television series Get Smart. Brooks earned a degree in psychology in college but pursued comedy instead. He was hired by a friend to write jokes for the TV series, The Admiral. From then on, he worked his way in the field of writing and film-making, and eventually, he produced award-winning films such as Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, and not to forget, The Producers, which was adapted into Broadway.

What you may not know is that as a child, Brooks was exposed to Broadway through his uncle. At 16 years old, he was hired as a drummer and a comedian. Besides, he once served in World War II, then played drums at a nightclub in the Catskills. Brooks started a comedy show before working on television, also worked in radio, and worked as a master actor at the Grozinger Resort.
