PHOEBE CATES
Phoebe Cates was born in New York City to a family of TV stations and Broadway producers. She is an American film actress, model, and entrepreneur. She is well-known for a series of movies in the 1980s, such as “The Open American School” and “Pokemon”. In late 1982, she starred in “The Open American Academy”, which featured what “Rolling Stone” described as “the most memorable scene in movie history where you take off your bikini.”
In order to raise children, Cates withdrew from the film industry in 1994. In 2001, in order to support her good friend Jennifer Jason Lee, cates starred in her film “Tonight’s Carnival”. In 2005, cates started operating its own boutique on Madison Avenue in New York, called Blue Tree. You may not know that Phoebe’s grandparents were Jewish immigrants from Podonia, Ukraine. Phoebe’s mother was born in Shanghai, China to Russian Jews and of Chinese descent.
