WOODY ALLEN

Woody Allen is an American director, comedian, and writer. He has a professional career of more than 60 years and has won many Oscars. He began his career as a writer for Sid Caesar’s comedy variety show “The Show.” In the early 1960s, he worked as a comedian in Greenwich Village. There, he developed a monologue style. By the mid-1960s, Allen began to write and direct films.

His film Annie Hall is a romantic comedy, performed by Allen and his frequent collaborator Diane Keaton, and won four Oscars. The interesting thing you may not know about Woody Allen is that In May 2016, during the screening of Cafe Society on the opening night of the Cannes Film Festival, host Laurent Lafitte said: “I’m glad you’ve made so many films in Europe, even though you have not been condemned of rape.” This “joke” did not resonate with the public.
