CAMILLE COSBY

Camille Cosby, born on March 20, 1944, is an American television producer, philanthropist, and the wife of comedian Bill Cosby. The role in The Cosby Show Clair Huxtable is based on her. Camille Cosby avoided public life, but has been active in her husband’s business as a manager, and has participated in academia and writing. In 1990, Cosby received a master’s degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, followed by a doctorate in 1992.

She has a deep sense of reason and social responsibility has been a long-term educational advocate and has provided ongoing financial support to African American universities and colleges in American history. In 1988, she and her husband Bill Cosby donated 20 million US dollars to Spelman College, a prestigious and historic university for African-American women, located in Georgia, United States. According to statistics, this couple had donated more than 70 million US dollars to several universities and colleges by 1994.
