MAX BAER JR.

Max Baer Jr. may have earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration but he initially pursued a career in acting. In 1949, he began acting in the Goldilocks and the Three Bears at the Blackpool Pavilion in England, but he rose to fame when he played Jethro Bodine on the television sitcom, The Beverly Hillbillies. Baer also concentrated on directing and producing shows and films like Macon County Line which became the highest-grossing movie at that time.

What you may not know is that in the 1960s, Max Baer Jr. was one of Elvis Presley’s Hollywood friends, and the two often participated in impromptu football matches together with Elvis Presley’s friends and subordinates. Upon retirement in the film industry, Baer invested in the business of creating slot machines in casinos named after his show, Beverly Hillbillies.
