If you don’t follow reality television all that much, then you may not have heard of Parker Schnabel. But, trust us, he does count as a celebrity—and he does count as a wealthy celebrity, at that. He rose to prominence for starring in the reality television series Gold Rush and its spinoff Gold Rush: Parker’s Trail. In the reality show, Schnabel set up his own mining operation and found some success as a miner.

Actually, scratch that, he’s found a considerable success as a miner, considering he’s been able to mine $13 million worth of gold already. He began summer work at the Big Nugget Mine when he was a young child. Before he earned his celebrity status, Schnabel mined his way to where he is now. Growing up, he started summer work at the Big Nugget Mine. Instead of going to college to finish a degree, he uses his fund to own his mining operation.
