ANN-MARGRET

Ann-Margret Olson was first discovered in George Burns’ annual holiday show where she auditioned. She debuted her first song album in 1961 entitled, And Here She Is: Ann-Margret. She was dubbed as the female version of Elvis Presley due to her distinct singing voice. In the same year, she filmed her first film, Pocketful of Miracles, alongside Bette Davis. Throughout her career of 50 years, she garnered five Golden Globe Awards and numerous award nominations.

Ann-Margret arrived in the United States at the age of 6. She studied at Northwestern University and went to Las Vegas to pursue a singing career. After starring in Bye Bye Birdie and Viva Las Vegas in collaboration with Elvis Presley, she became a box office star, a teen idol, and even a Golden Globe-nominated actress. She was known as the hottest young star in Hollywood and earned the nickname “Sexy Kitty” in the following years.
