LEONARD WHITING
Actor and singer Leonard Whiting became world-famous for playing the character of Romeo in the film adaptation of Romeo and Juliet in 1968. He was then credited with a Golden Globe Award for New Star of the Year for his performance. Whiting was first discovered by a talent scout at a wedding where he sang an opera song entitled Summertime. Since then, he went on to perform in musical plays until he pursued an acting career and starred in several films.
Whiting retired as an actor in the mid-1970s but continued his theatrical career as a writer and actor. Back in the days, Leonard’s profile was meant to be the Romeo that the book has described and the Romeo Montague that we’ve all dreamed of. Today, at the age of 70 years old, he’s still got that dashing charm in him, credits to him living a full and happy retirement, plus, choosing to maintain a fine lifestyle.
