When we talk about James Hetfield’s car collection, we’re speaking in the past tense, as the Metallica frontman made the surprising decision to donate his entire collection. He explained the decision to MotorTrend, saying that he wasn’t sure he could keep up the “time and effort” necessary to keep his cars “in good condition.”
The collection, while he had it, was very interesting. He had models like the 1948 Jaguar “Black Pearl,” 1937 Lincoln Zephyr “Voodoo Priest, “ 1953 Buick “Skyscraper,” 1934 Packard “Aquarius,” and 1936 Auburn “Slow Burn.” He said it was a “huge honor” to donate these and other vehicles to the Petersen Automotive Museum, where they’re on display for the public to see.
